More about Checkout Hunger
So the conversation snippets I just posted are about something that’s going on with my job at the grocery store Wegmans. We have this campaign every year, and it never ceases to amaze me how selfish humans are. The lies and the greed are just awful. Checkout Hunger Campaign
Me: Would you like to donate anything to the Checkout Hunger Campaign? 100% of the profits go to the food bank of Western New York.
Customer #1: No, I have enough trouble feeding myself.
My Thoughts: Then why are you wasting your money on 30$ worth of cosmetics?
Me: Would you like to make a donation to the Checkout Hunger Campaign? Last year we raised over 24 Million Dollars, 9 Million of which fed children alone.
Customer #2: No no, I'm in here every day, I can't afford to donate every time I come through.
My Thoughts: If you can treat yourself to 2 doughnuts every day, you could cut back and donate the spare change and feel like a good human being instead of a lard ass who's too cheap to help the needy.
Me: Would you like to make a donation to the Checkout Hunger Campaign?
Customer #3: No no, I don't have money for extravagances.
My Thoughts: Are you messing with me? Seriously? You just bought over $700 worth of groceries, at least $200 of which was shrimp and steaks. Seriously?

Crying cleanses the soul. Shoot for once a month. Even if it’s just a brief mist at a tender moment in a sad movie. 3. Never apologize...

I would hold your hand, as a friend. Then we could cook a decadent dinner and watch old movies. I know that’s not what you’re really asking for here, but it’s all I have to offer, as a far away friend.
