Sick Hicks

My father proclaimed us to be ‘sick hicks’ last night. We’ve both been under the weather for nearly a month now. I started off with a sinus infection- from which I was nearly recovered, until I caught whatever my dad has. He is mostly better- except for the fact that whenever he goes into work his symptoms kick up again. My mom wonders if at this point it’s not a cold or sinus infection but rather a flu. I have mixed feelings about that notion. I know I stared with a basic sinusitis- I was nearly better! Dad’s thing, I don’t know. Since I caught it I’ve had all the symptoms of my sinusitis, but with the added benefits of cough, congestion, phlegm, all that great stuff. I’ve obliterated 2 bags of cough drops in the past week, and between the two of us we’ve killed 5 boxes of tissues (with no sign of stopping any time soon).

I’m majorly bummed to be this sick right now though- it’s the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival month- which is a hugity huge deal. 3 weeks of nonstop comedy featuring acts from all over the country - all at my home theater of DSI. Luckily my staffing shifts all fall at the end of next week- but still. I feel like crapola.

AUGH. I want to be better, asap. I think all I can do though is wait it out. I have an antibiotic, I hope it works its magic soon. In the mean time, it’s orange juice, chicken broth, and hot tea.
